About Fido & Fifi Bakery for Pets
Created in 2014, Fido and Fifi was started to fill a request from people looking for unique dog collars. We started making pearl and crystal collars that sold world wide - we were even featured in Martha Stewart's Weddings magazine.
The fad at the time was to have your dog as part of your wedding party - the bride's dog would have a matching pearl collar, while the groom's dog would wear a match bow tie. Like all fads, we knew this would eventually die down, so we created the bakery division.
What started out as a way to fill table space at markets and shows, very quickly grew to a full fledged enterprise with cookies, meat and even items for pet people - our glassware and jewelry make great gifts.
We have created all our recipes from scratch, and source as many of our products from local farmers when in season. Each batch is quite small, and produced by me - it's a one woman show. Our packaged cookies do not contain any animal by products and are an excellent choice for the other pets in your life - parrots, horses, rabbits and rodents will enjoy them.
The crunchy texture gives them a satisfying crunch and are a great size for training.
Our eye catching decorated treats are fun to make and are great for gifts or just because. Our yogurt based icing was created from scratch by me over a period of 2 year through lots of trial and error - and lots of frustration and gray hairs - to product a hard shell with less sugar.
With Fido & Fifi's main goal to produce the highest quality treats, using only people quality ingredients, we knew we only had to look in our proverbial backyard to source the highest quality meat for our dehydrated meat snacks. It is very important to us that our meat is sourced locally to the Guelph area - there are so many great small local farms in our area, that this was easy. We have toured local abattoirs and have seen how the animals are handled and feel very confident that we are making the right choice in where to get our meat. We pride ourselves on creating close, long term relationships with out butchers to enable us to maintain the high quality we demand. Like our cookies, we don't use preservatives in our meat snacks. All the meat is hand cut and prepared in very small batches.
